Got Tagged ---So Here Goes

Brian Tagged me! Which mean I need continue the game by listed six wierd things about myself and then tagging six other people. The rules are that if you get tagged you simply write six wierd things about yourself and tag six others.

My six wierd things about myself--not so difficult to come up with when you have so much material to deal with.

1. I enjoy eating fried green tomatoes.

2. I like watching Monk and for that matter almost any other cheesy crime mystery shows.

3. I have taken a small engine repair class via community education and have found out the I love repairing any type of small engine---the surprise is I can usually fix them!

4. I work at Camp Echo Grove in the mid 1960's with my wife. Others who worked during this era were Marilee Butcher, my sister-in law (Connie), my brother and many others. Popular locations at camp were the crow's nest and Peyton Place?!?

5. My favorite all time car was a 1966 Buick Special in a sand beige color.

6. My favorite place for Mexican food is from a very small (hole-in-wall) restaurant near DePaul University's Music School.

I am tagging Amy, James, Maddy, Andrew, Capt Kris, Major Lawry.

Too Much Time

Well I must have too much time on my hands. I started stripping the wall paper and border off off the walls in the half bath. We have been cleaning it up ever since. We are just now finishing getting the remanants of the glue and wallpaper backing off the walls.

Peg & I decided on a light blue paint with a border around the top of the walls. The border has two beach chairs and a beach scene with sea gulls walking along the beach. We also have a picture that matches the border and some other decorations for in their. I think this will be the first time we have redone that bathroom since we first moved in. We are past due for it.

We also hope to replace the black with gold vein sink for a white one.It should look good when we get it done.

We will be going to Fostoria Manor tomorrow for nursing home visitation and distribution of the Christmas cards and gifts. It always takes only a few minutes and the people seem so appreciative of our brief visit and the token gifts.

I'm still looking for work and have been applying for twenty or so jobs each week. I'm sure that I will find something  and it will all work out for the best. God knows how to work these things out so that we can be in the center of His will.

What a month!

I have been out of work since November 6th. I was let go. It seems really strange to be home and looking for a new job.

I guess that I look forward to a different kind of work. I have told my family that I would like to work at Menard's or Home Depot and that is true. I really would like to take a job at a home improvement store and be able to assist people with figuring out repairs and home improvement projects.

So far I have applyed to Lowe's. Menards and Home Depot, but no bites so far. I have also applied to about forty other potential employers without much luck so far.

I know that God has a plan for me and I look forward to finding out what it is. I do have more time for reading my Bible and for devotions each day and that is a good thing. Peg has been good about getting our Christmas shopping done and being supportive in everything. I love her so much!

We also had an opportunity to spend some time with Jaime just before Thanksgiving she came and worked in Michigan for about a week and a half. That was very nice also.

Bye for now!

END OF WORK WEEK HAPPINESS

It is finally Friday and quickly moving toward the end of my work day. For some strange reason that always makes me me very happy. One of our employees asked if he could come in on Saturday to get caught up and asked for my outside door key. I gladly gave it to him, since I have no desire to come in and look at any more work.

Jaime says that I look forward to Saturdays not so much to sleep in, but to go out for breakfast. She is so right about that. However, sleeping until 7:00 a.m. is also nice. Then we get up and take our time reading the Flint Journal which, of course, helps us solve all of the mysteries of life. Well...for some strange reason it is relaxing.

I have checked the weather forecast and it is expected to snow Saturday night here. Hopefully not enough to stick on the ground and make the obligatory snowman. It will just be one more warning to banton down the hatches. We still need to cover some of the patio furniture and mulch the leaves on the ground.

Maybe I'll just sit around and watch football or go to the mall to llok for Peg a birthday present. She is so easy to shop for! (NOT)

Well until next time-- I'll close.

Mid-Week Tiredness

Wow---am I tired. It seems like it has been forever since I have had a truly restful weekend to get caught up on rest. I am looking forward to this weekend for that very reason.

I have really enjoyed the last couple of weekends though. Last weekend was Men's Corps Retreat at camp. I stayed up late playing cards and having fun. Dr. Roger Green presented the Bible study on the Disciples which was interested and educational. I learned a lot about what was going on in several of the disciples lives at the time Christ was on Earth teaching and leading them. It was must have been a great experience for aech of them having Christ as their mentor and friend in the flesh.

The weekend before that we had the Mowers with us and that was a great experience as well. It was good to see them and get caught up with them again.
